News Update April/May 2019

An Honest Gentleman

the musical play I co-wrote with Cordelia Spence for Stuff Of Dreams THeatre Company is out on tour around the eatern region and is going down very well. We've had some very good reviews which you can read on my new review page. Speaking of which...

I've added a reviews page to the website, mostly for theatre stuff at the moment go here to read about An Honest Gentleman, and Last year's A Midsummer Night's Dream and At The turning of The Tide

I've released an album made largely of solo acoustic versions that have gone on to show up in plays, band sets and my solo gigs. It's availble from bandcamp; click on the album cover and it'll link you to my Bandcamp page.

There's loads of Stuff of Dreams News. The 29th of March sees the beginning of a twelve date tour of "An Honest Gentleman" a play I co-wrote  with company director Cordelia Spence about the real life Norfolk-born Highwayman Thomas Easter. The one-off development showcase we did last year was very favourably received and now we have Arts Council funding to bring it to a wider audience. It features eight songs composed by me and it romps along like all good swash-buckling adventures should do. For more info click the button below.

2019 looks like being a very busy year for the Punch House Band. We've been gigging hard and have a rapidly filling diary for the rest of this year. We've also made some videos, had some excellent publicity pictures taken and we have made a six track EP which we'll be selling at gigs. Check out PHB website for more details.

I've got a couple of EP's available now in my bandcamp store. "The Fisheye Boys" and "Here Comes Uncle Lard" are a sort of experiment in psychedelic experimental pop and I must confess I had great fun doing them. I've always loved the kind of extraordinary stuff people like Syd Barrett and Kevin Ayers were doing in the late sixties and early seventies as well as the work of Robyn Hitchcock in all his forms and these two collections represents me indulging those influences! listen links below

I am delighted to announce that I have been nominated in "The People's Choice" individual section of The Norfolk Arts Awards 2018. This is deeply cool but it gets cooler still! Both the theatre companies I work with, Crude Apache and Stuff of Dreams nave also been nominated which gives me a warm feeling in my trousers and no mistake. It's a voting thing so if you want to cast your vote for me and mine click then go here and make it so! UPDATE: I came equal second in a field of three but it was a great night out

Bark Against

the Dogstar

Stuff of Dreams & An Honest Gentleman

By the time you read this my latest Stuff of Dreams Theatre Company project will have finished, for now at least. It's the third play I've co-written with Cordelia Spence, the company director, and it's the story of the real-life Norfolk Highwayman Thomas Easter. You can find more info elsewhere on this site (or by clicking on the picture opposite) but it's worth mentioning that I wrote eight new songs for this show and that, all things being equal, it will be touring next year.
